What is your cancellation and refund policy?All programs are non-refundable and we have the sole right to cancel, postpone and or discontinue any program. If your program is canceled for any reason you will be issued a full refund for the course minus any applicable service fees as those are non-refundable.​

What is a licensed training provider?An American Red Cross licensed training provider (LTP) is an independent training partner of the Red Cross authorized to teach their courses.

Some of our most popular courses include: - Lifeguarding - Basic Life Support - First Aid - Babysitting Training We also offer instructor level courses such as: - Lifeguarding Instructor - First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor - CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers Instructor - Basic Life Support Instructor Lastly, we offer online courses that are always available.

Where are your courses held?We're are based out of Joliet, Illinois but being a Licensed Training Provider we are able to teach courses throughout the U.S. We have taught classes in Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. What happens if I don't pass the prerequisite testing?Per the Red Cross participants have two attempt to pass the prerequisite testing. If on the second attempt a participant fails then they will be dismissed from the course with a 50% refund. If they so choose they may re-register for a course at a later date.

What are the lifeguarding prerequisites?The prerequisites are as follows: 300 yard swim Participants will be expected to swim 300 yards without stopping. The swim is to be completed by using freestyle and or breaststroke. 2-Minute Tread Participants are expected to tread in deep water for 2 minutes without the use of their hands. Timed Retrieval Event Lastly, participants will be expected to swim down to the deep end of the pool, retrieve a 10 pound brick, then while grabbing the brick with both hands swim on their back to the start. Participants have 1 minute and 40 seconds to complete this activity. Participants are granted 2 tries to complete this event.

What is the online (blended learning) material?Here at Dartford Training we prefer to teach our courses blended learning. This limits the time participants spend with us in class. For the lifeguarding course participants are expected to complete the 7.5 hour online material prior to the start of the class. If participants do not complete the online course work prior to the start of the course they will be dismissed from the class and will not be eligible for a refund. An email with the link to the online materials will be sent out 7-10 days prior to the start of the course by the instructor.

What should I bring to my lifeguard class?Participants should be prepared to get in the water all three days of the course. Below is a list of materials we suggest you should bring. - Proof of Identification (for age verification purposes) - Swimsuit - Towel - Contact lenses/glasses - Lifeguarding Manual (an electronic copy was sent in your email) - Lunch (30-45 minute lunch break will be given on Saturday and Sunday). - Blended Learning Completion Certificate - Any other materials that participants deem necessary.

What happens if I did not pass my course?There are two answers to this question: BASIC-LEVEL COURSES With all basic level courses the Red Cross allows one retake. If you fail to pass the second attempt then you must retake the entire course. Course fees will be non-refundable. We do allow for participants to move to another class at a later date. Ask your instructor for more details. INSTRUCTOR-LEVEL COURSES With our instructor level courses the Red Cross has a one and done testing policy, which means that you have one attempt to pass your exam. If you fail that one attempt you will need to speak with your Instructor Trainer on options available to you. As a clarification are course fees are non-refundable.

When will I receive my certification?Certifications begin to be processed the moment you complete the course. The Red Cross allows us 10 days to submit certificates. At Dartford we ask our instructors to submit certificates within 48 hours of course completion.
